Fall Quarter 2023
What am I doing?
The expected and the unexpected. Freshman fall quarter was full of more new experiences, challenges, and setbacks than I could have anticipated. These past couple months were marked with anticipation, disappointment, and hopefulness for the rest of my college experience. Most of the time though, I have found myself asking: What am I even doing?
Here I have just a few of the ways I have started to acclimate with this new environment and I have also attached my reflection on just what fall freshman quarter was like, from the expected to the unexpected and all of the moments in between.
Fall Quarter

Unexpected Success
The Honors 230 class was a great challenge this quarter. It pushed me to be a more careful reader, a better writer, and a more critical thinker. I put a lot of time and effort into this demanding class, and the work I did paid off! Professor Soder asked to put the paper I have attached on Machiavelli, Lord Chesterfield, and Francis Bacon in the syllabus for the next class as an example. I was extremely proud after receiving this high praise and the paper is a testament to the 14 papers I wrote for the class. This class was a big switch from high school writing classes, but not only did I improve my writing I also loved the discussions in class and looked forward to them. My paper is a quick read, please enjoy!
A New Home
Since senior year of high school I have been looking forward to living on my own. This new experience has provided a lot of learning for me in what it means to live with someone other than my family, how to do things on my own, and how to manage newfound independence. I have included some pictures from campus and dorm life this quarter, good moments and the not so good. A few photos feature fmy freshman-year roommate and life-long best friend, Brooklyn.

Growing Up
I am embarrassed to admit that, before coming to UW, I had never had a job outside of childcare or being some type of camp counselor. In this first quarter I could feel that it was time to get serious about seeking opportunities in Seattle. My first step is getting a "real" job. I have attached the first resume I made to achieve this goal.
